(Greater Sudbury, ON) With the season quickly approaching, the Sudbury FIVE are pleased to announce two more player signings ahead of their Winter Drive with the Five this Saturday at Cambrian College.

6’5” forward, Dexter Williams Jr has re-signed with the club for the upcoming season. The 26-year-old Jacksonville, Florida native attended Montana-Western University prior to joining the FIVE last season. In 32 games with the FIVE, Williams averaged 6 points per game and 4 rebounds per game.

“The Dexter Williams of the world don’t always get the credit they deserve because they do all the dirty work on the court,” said Head Coach Logan Stutz. “They hustle, they rebound, they play defense. Dexter does all that and is a great teammate. His efforts last year didn’t always put him in the spotlight, but he won us games and ultimately earned himself another contract with The Five this year. I can’t wait to see what Dexter does for us this season!”

“I’m very happy to be back in the Nickel City,” said Williams Jr. “This will be my second year as a pro, and I am happy it’s all been with the five! I have put in a lot of work during the off-season and I am very excited, and you should be as well. Let’s have a special year. I’m looking forward to working our way to bring Sudbury a title!”

The FIVE have also added 27-year-old Innisfil native, Jelane Pryce to the roster. Pryce attended the University of Winnipeg and most recently played for the Saskatchewan Rattlers of the CEBL where he won a championship this past season while averaging 5 points per game, 4 rebounds per game and 1 block. The 6’8” forward is the 6th ranked Canada FIBA 3×3 and is a member of Canada’s second best 3×3 team.

“There are many great things that Jelane will bring to the Sudbury Five this year,” said Stutz. “He can play multiply positions, plays defense very well, and he won a championship in Canada. However, one of the coolest things for Sudbury is that he is a Northern Ontario player and he’s a perfect fit for us all around. I am looking forward to having him on the team this year.”

“I can’t wait to play for the Five in the same area code I played high school in!” said Pryce. “It’s like it was meant to be, it going to be a fun year!”

Dexter Williams Jr and Jelane Pryce are two of seven players that will be on-hand this Saturday at Cambrian College as the team will host Winter Drive with the Five in support of Our Children, Our Future. Participants pre-registered to participate in one of two three-hour camp sessions with the donation of a winter clothing item. Camp sessions are full, however those who were unable to register can attend between 2pm and 3pm where Coach Stutz will introduce the players as well as there will be a player meet and greet and the chance to win great prizes!

The FIVE open up their schedule at home on November 22nd against the Moncton Magic. Tickets are on-sale now at the Sudbury Arena Box Office or online at thefive.ca.
