(Sudbury, ON) The National Basketball League of Canada announced Tuesday night that Sudbury Five guards Braylon Rayson and Jaylen Bland had been named to the ALL NBLC First Team.

At the conclusion of each season, the National Basketball League of Canada puts together three ALL STAR teams, an ALL DEFENSIVE team, an ALL ROOKIE team, and three ALL CANADIAN teams. The ALL STAR and ALL CANADIAN teams are ranked on contribution to their team and individual accomplishments throughout the season.

The 24-year-old Rayson, finished his second year professionally as the architect of the league’s best offense. The former Central Michigan stand out led the NBL Canada in points per game (25.1) and finished second in both three-pointers scored per game (3.8) and in field goals scored per game (8.4). The Dallas, TX native led the league in points scored (979), three-pointers scored (149), and total field goals scored (328). Rayson is now playing for Luoyang Zhonghe of the National Basketball League of China.

The 26-year-old guard from Saginaw, MI was one of the Five’s most explosive scorers all year. Playing in 29 games this season, Bland averaged 18.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. One of the best shooters in the league this season, Bland scored the third most three pointers in the league, netting 133 over the course of the season. Bland led the league averaging 4.6 3PT/G, contributing to the league leading Five offense. Since the conclusion of the Sudbury Five season, Bland has joined the Fraser Valley Bandits of the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
