(Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury FIVE are excited to announce the opening of the team’s inaugural Training Camp is this Friday, November 2nd.
17 players from across North America have been invited to participate in the 72-hour camp hosted at the Official Practice Facility of the FIVE, Cambrian College. The invite list includes both players signed with the team, and those still looking for a professional contract.
“Training Camp is an optimist time of year for all involved,” noted Head Coach and General Manager Logan Stutz. “We’ve invited 17 high-quality athletes to Main Camp this year. From what we’ve seen so far, they all have the potential of making the team’s opening night roster. It makes our decision as a coaching staff even more difficult, but for us, it’s a great problem to have.”
On Saturday, the FIVE will be hosting an Open Practice for fans, which coincides with Cambrian College’s Fall Open House. Practice will take place from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Main Gym at Cambrian College and will allow FIVE fans to meet members of the team. In addition to the on-court session, the team will also be hosting a Free Throw, Three Point, and Half Court Shooting Contest for fans beginning at 1:00 PM. All prizes are sponsored by Cambrian College.
Following the conclusion of the on-court session at 1:00 PM on Saturday, the team will be hosting media availability for all coaches and players.
The FIVE begin the season November 17th on the road against the Windsor Express, before travelling to Kitchener to take on the KW Titans on November 18th. The team heads back home for their inaugural game at the Sudbury Community Arena on November 22nd.
